Sustainable entrepreneurship is one of the pillars of Roos Nurseries. We grow our plants in 100% recyclable, carbon-free pots. The potting soil we use is RHP certified. This means that the substrate meets the right quality requirements for, for example, water absorption, air content, pH, EC and nutrients. The needs of the plant are determined by frequently taking soil samples. This provides the plants with the optimum amount of nutrients.

At the nursery we use environmentally and animal-friendly crop protection products as much as possible. Plant enhancers are used to prevent diseases and pests. These enhancers make the plants naturally resistant to diseases and pests. To determine the water needs of the plants, this is monitored daily. This with the aim of watering as efficiently as possible.

We also separate paper, plastic and green waste. We work with LED lighting in our buildings and all greenhouses are equipped with the latest, well-insulating energy screens. Finally, we work completely neonicotinoids-free to prevent bee deaths.
